I am slowly but surely catching up. And can I just mention that my "Denmark Journal" Word Document has reached 70 pages. If only I could write this fast creatively, I'd have a gazillion novels written by now.

A night of sleep in my bed, and a really terrible tidying up job later, I went Saturday morning to the train station to pick up the lovely Meghan who had come to visit me! Like a mini exchange program…I go to Paris, she comes here!
Though she had to get up at an ungodly hour to get to Copenhagen, I think she was more awake than me. We spent the morning wandering around the center of Copenhagen and Strøget. However, my friends keep coming at perfect intervals so that things are available to do that I haven’t done before – this time, a canal tour! It was a beautiful day, and the tour was great – the only sad thing was the absence of the Little Mermaid. It was especially sad as I had heard that she wasn’t leaving until the middle of April and had assured Meghan she would still be here. Copenhagen feels a little emptier without her. Apparently now there’s some Chinese art in the place of it, but it got stolen in the night, and I don’t know if it’s back yet.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Tables outside, but blankets since it's still actually chilly...
This is a cool apartment building that used to be used as a submarine docking place, or something neat like that.
The Little Mermaid has been replaced by Tourist Mermaid
Seriously cool-looking cakes
Lunch was an experience. We went to this Mexican/Italian buffet I’d seen and always wanted to try because it sounded so hilarious. The inside looks pretty authentically Mexican, not a lot of Italian. The buffet, too, was mostly Mexican – the only Italian thing was pizza, and a pasta on which the sauce seemed to have a Mexican flair to it. There was also a vat of fries and what I thought was onion rings…I ate one onion ring and started on the next, before thinking it was really, really chewy for an onion ring. We determined it was probably calamari. Hmmm…not sure how I feel about that.
After lunch we walked back toward Christianshavn, past the Black Diamond (where I was waved at by two random people in a car…I was very confused for a while, because I know no one with a car, and then I was upset that they had driven away because they obviously seemed very friendly).
As luck would have it, the street we took into Christianshavn had the bakery on it that I had found when searching for good bakeries in Copenhagen. So, of course, we stopped. I told Meghan she had to get a “Danish”, but I went for something a little fancier. Delicious. I’m going to miss bakeries.

To end a wonderful day, the tower to Vor Frelsers Kirke was finally open. The line was incredibly long, and we weren’t sure we’d make it before it closed, but I think we were some of the last. To make things even better, for some reason it was free that day! The views were absolutely spectacular – better, I think, then the Round Tower, because you could see the whole city from there – the center, including the Round Tower, Christianshavn, and Amager – the island I’m on. The height didn’t bother me too much until we got to the very top where the steps were narrow and the wind blew much too hard – in the wrong direction. I felt like I was going to be blown off, a terrifying experience. I didn’t realize how terrifying until I got down to sturdy ground and discovered that my legs were shaking from being so tense. However, it was worth it, and I would do it again. Definitely my favorite building in Copenhagen.
The pretty side of Amager...not where I live :)
So much orange!
Eeep! And then I looked up...
Feel like you're falling over backwards? So did I...
