It was a rather gloomy day Wednesday – rainy, rainy, rainy. I actually quite like the rain, but I was already sleepy, so I could not wake up very easily. I was not very productive, but I did go last-minute shopping with Julia to try to find a key holder for Angela for our “Famous Character Party”. We agreed that it’s the smallest, simplest things that you can never find, especially in Denmark, and we commiserated over difficulties in finding flash cards. Apparently Danish students don’t use them…I had to buy them in England.
However, we were successful, and in the evening Angela, Julia, and I got together to become our famous characters – the Polish guys! We had borrowed their shirts under the context of needing them for a different party, and they didn’t suspect a thing. It was great fun. I think our costumes were quite good, we even had the key holders, which Marcin thought was hilarious. And we bought Snickers...because Marcin keeps trying to feed us Snickers.
Here with our counterparts (Wolverine/Marcin, Arthur Dent/Andrzej, Where’s Waldo/Marcin):
Julia forgot she wasn’t allowed to smile, so I took another one when she was looking particularly Andrzej-like.

My bike decided to teach me not to be cocky on Thursday. I was so smug (not really, but I was thinking “Wow, I’m already home? That was relatively painless!”) about making it back, so my conniving little bike decided to show me he was still boss. There’s two ways to get back to my dorm – there’s the back way that most people use because it involves less actual traffic and is more direct, but it also has a sharper turn, and I’m not so good with sharp turns. Then there’s the front way in, but it has a bit of metal separating the bike path from the dirt path – I don’t know why – so it’s a bit of a bump going over. Today, my bike decided it didn’t want to go over, so it turned the wrong way and flipped me over. And, of course, the most scraped up hand is my right hand. But, I’m all good, and it means I get to use the Moomin band-aids I bought here! (Moomin are Finnish characters – look them up, they’re adorable). Every time I see the band-aid it makes me smile :D The most annoying thing is I landed on my phone, and apparently it’s not a very sturdy phone and it snapped in half. Now I have to get a new phone with only two months left…*sigh*
At night was another wonderful dinner party – a Swiss dinner! So good! And now we all have the recipe for chocolate mousse – amazing. Why do I have to go home again?
